and Welcome to Syracuse
on behalf of the Women of the University Community!
As you and/or your spouse are newcomers to the university and possibly Syracuse
as well, I want to tell you about an opportunity for female
faculty and staff, as well as for female spouses and partners
of faculty and staff of Syracuse University, SUNY College of
Environmental Science and Forestry, and SUNY Upstate Medical
University.
WOMEN OF THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY offers

A play group for parents and young children
Community service opportunities
WUC
was established in 1927, and is a self-sufficient, not-for-profit
organization. The
organization schedules special events during the school year,
sponsors auxiliary groups that meet regularly, and organizes
projects to raise funds for three scholarships.

You
may request a copy of a folder of community information. There’s
information about places to hike, swim, eat, see shows,
enjoy art etc. We
include a list of personal recommendations from members of
WUC for medical providers, child care, museums, etc.

I moved to Syracuse a few years back, a Newcomers folder
was
my motivation to get out in the neighborhood and beyond.
I joined the playgroup, then the Luncheon with Friends, and
I'm still discovering new things. There is just so much
to do in Onondaga County."
